In the energy absorption structure 10, a spreader plate 16 is arranged between a front bumper reinforcement 12 and the energy absorption member 14, and surface rigidity of the spreader plate 16 in the vehicle width direction is enhanced by a plate-shaped plate body 18 reinforced by reinforcement wall parts 20 and 22. According to this constitution, bending of the plate body 18 in the horizontal direction is restrained during inputting of the impact load, and the plate body part 18 transmits the load to the energy absorption member 14 by the whole surface, and the energy absorption member 14 effectively exhibits an energy absorption performance.
