PURPOSE: To provide an energy sealing piezoelectric resonator to 1-2 MHz band by linking a pair of supporting part to the node point of the vibration of a piezoelectric resonator part utilizing a width mode.
CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric resonator part 2 is composed of a piezoelectric material such as piezoelectric ceramic and provided with structure forming resonating electrodes 2b and 2c on the entire faces of both main faces of a rectangular piezoelectric board 2a, and the piezoelectric board 2a is polarized uniformly so that the polarizing axis can be parallel with the thickness-wise direction. On the other hand, supporting parts 3 and 4 are formed by the same material integrally with the piezoelectric board 2a and linked to a pair of side face central parts, which are faced each other, of the piezoelectric board 2a. Thus, since the supporting parts 3 and 4 are linked to the node point of vibrations, the vibrations caused by the width mode are not almost transmitted to the side of link parts 3a and 4a. Therefore, the vibration energy of the piezoelectric resonator part 2 utilizing the width mode is actually sealed between the supporting parts 3 and 4.
