Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform reading two sets of image information simultaneously by taking pictures without using a filter but using two sorts of accumulative phosphor layers and scanning a single excitation light.

CONSTITUTION: A single accumulative phosphor sheet 2 having a first and a second accumulative phosphor layers 2A, 2B consisting of different phosphor bodies is used. The layer 2A has a higher absorption property for low energy components of radial ray compared to the layer 2B, and the sheet 2 is disposed to put the layer 2A closer to a source of the radial ray than the layer 2B. When a radial ray 4A is radiated from the radial ray source 4, it passes a subject matter 3 to reach the layer 2A first for accumulating and recording a transmitted radial ray image of the subject matter 3, where high energy components are strengthened for the transmitted radial ray because of the absorption characteristics of the layer 2A. Next, the radial ray gets to the layer 2B for accumulating and recording a transmitted radial ray image of the subject matter 3 from which image information relating to low energy components is reduced, and two sorts of images are accumulated and recorded simultaneously and read by a reading device. Both layers 2A, 2B are excited preferably by excitation light of a wavelength of 510-540nm, so image information recorded on both layers can be read simultaneously.
