PURPOSE: To prevent the quenching of a superconductive coil by varying the capacity of a capacitor by a circuit constituted of a semiconductor switch and the capacitor in the case energy between reactors is transferred.
CONSTITUTION: A thyristor(Thy) 3 is turned ON to flow the current I1 to a reactor 1 from the excitation power supply 11, the voltage Vc of a capacitor 5 charges as the polarity shown in the fig. at a charging circuit 12 by closing a switch 7, and the switch 7 is opened. Then, when a Thy 4 is turned ON, the Thy 3 is turned OFF, and the current I1 flows to invert the polarity of the voltage Vc. After that, when the Thy 3 is turned ON, the Thy 4 is turned OFF, and the voltage Vc is applied to a reactor 2 to flow the current I2. The polarity of the voltage Vc is inverted by the current I2. By repeating this method, the energy is transferred from the reactor 1 to 2. A controlling circuit 13 controls Thys 3 and 4 by output of CT 13 and PT 14, and turns a parallel ON/OFF capacitor 6 of the capacitor 5 and controls the oscillation frequency of the voltage Vc. The quenching of a superconductive coil is thereby prevented.
