Abstract:
To secure an opportunity of executing a catalyst deterioration diagnosis based on an oxygen storage capacity and highly accurately make the deterioration diagnosis in an engine apparatus including an exhaust gas recirculation device.SOLUTION: An engine apparatus includes a control device that controls an engine and an exhaust gas recirculation device and makes a catalyst deterioration diagnosis for diagnosing deterioration of a catalyst provided in an exhaust pipe of the engine on the basis of an oxygen storage capacity. When the oxygen storage capacity is less than a predetermined amount, the control device restricts the execution of the exhaust gas recirculation and makes the catalyst deterioration diagnosis. Thus, an opportunity of executing the catalyst deterioration diagnosis based on the oxygen storage capacity can be secured. In addition, when the oxygen storage capacity is less than the predetermined amount, since the execution of the exhaust gas recirculation is restricted and then, the catalyst deterioration diagnosis is made again, accuracy of the diagnosis can be enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
