To provide an engine belt tension device which facilitates belt tension work.

The engine belt tension device is configured such that a rocking force in belt tension direction can be applied to a belt tensioner 2 by advancing an adjust bolt 15 in a way that a base end section 17 of adjuster stay 16 equipped with the adjust bolt 15 and base end section 10 of rocking-side stay 9 are integrally fixed to a rocking-side bracket 7 with a stay fixing bolt 11, an engaging strip 18 and the adjust bolt 15 are provided in the tip section of the adjuster stay 16, the engaging strip 18 is engaged with a guide groove 12 of the rocking-side stay 9 to prevent a tip section of the adjuster stay 16 from rocking, and the tip section 19 of the adjust bolt 15 is brought into contact with a rocking-side end section 4 of the belt tensioner 2.
