Abstract:

To provide an engine block of an internal combustion engine, in which a structure around the engine can be simplified furthermore.

A butt surface 28 is provided to an external surface of a block body of the engine block 10, and a first recessed part 27 is provided inside the butt surface 28. An outside end of an exhaust hole 15 is opened in the first recessed part 27. A cover member 36 is fitted to the butt surface 28, and an exhaust chamber 35 is formed between the first recessed part 27 and the cover member 36. A catalyst unit 31 is housed in the exhaust chamber 35.
