Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine for a compact planing boat giving good influence on planing performance of the compact planing boat by backwardly moving the center of gravity of the engine.
SOLUTION: A generator 3 accommodated in a housing 8 is mounted at an output end side of a crank shaft 5, a starter motor 4, and a clutch 6 for connecting and disconnecting an output shaft of the starter motor 4 and a rotor 12 of the generator are mounted at the output end side of the crank shaft at an outer part of a crank case 7, a cam chain tunnel 9 is formed in a state of being communicated in the housing 8, and a sealing member 24 for sealing the crank shaft is mounted around a through hole 14 of the crank case 7 for allowing an output end of the crank shaft to project into the housing 8 for the generator.
