To provide an engine control device for a motorcycle which enables safe straight-ahead running and drifting of a motorcycle.
The device consists of an accelerator operation amount detector 3 which employs an electric throttle as a throttle for adjusting an intake air amount of an engine to detect an operation amount of an accelerator operated by a rider in order to indicate a valve opening degree of the electric throttle, a throttle control part which controls a drive amount of the electric throttle so as to change the valve opening degree in response to the operation amount detected by the accelerator operation amount detector, and a vehicle body inclination angle detector 2 which detects an inclination angle of a vehicle body. The throttle control part varies the characteristics of changes in the valve opening degree with respect to the operation amount of an accelerator in response to the inclination angle of a vehicle body detected by the vehicle body inclination angle detector.
