To enhance the response of engine control in a vehicle on which an engine operated on a liquid fuel and gas fuel is mounted.
In this engine control device, when the vehicle normally travels stably in a synchronous injection mode, an LPG is used whenever the residual amount of the LPG is sufficient (S2, S4, S5). By this, fuel economy can be improved and exhaust emission can be reduced. During the start of an engine when the state of the vehicle is unstable or when an increase in the amount of fuel is required due to an increase in load on the engine, fuel injection using gasoline is performed (S6 to S8). By this, the starting performance of the engine is enhanced. Since stable engine torque can be obtained when necessary, the response of the control is enhanced to improve driveability.
