This engine control device includes the engine 70, a fuel injection device 117 for injecting fuel into the engine 70, detection means 12-19 for detecting a driving state of the engine 70, and the ECU 11 for controlling operation of the fuel injection device 117 based on detection information of the detection means 12-19 and proper output characteristic data M of the engine 70, and includes a data storage means 21 for storing correction characteristic data RL for correcting the output characteristic data M. The ECU 11 corrects the output characteristic data M based on the correction characteristic data RL while receiving the correction characteristic data RL from the data storage means 21, and operates the fuel injection device 117 based on the corrected output characteristic data M and the detection information of the detection means 12-19.
