To secure a required output while limiting a vehicle speed preventing vehicle speed from being increased more than necessary when the vehicle is reversed without performing complicated manual operation even if high load is applied, in an irregular ground travel vehicle provided with a belt converter.
The system is provided with a vehicle speed sensor 110 which detects the vehicle speed and for example, a reverse position detecting switch 90 which detects a reverse position and simultaneously is provided with a controller 105 which detects a reversing condition by the reverse position detecting switch 90 and furthermore performs ignition limitation or fuel limitation to limit the vehicle speed to not higher than a specified value when the vehicle speed reaching the specified value is detected by the vehicle speed sensor 110. The reverse position detecting switch 90 is oppositely disposed to the end face of a shift rod 72 in the axial direction, and detects an approach of the shift rod 72 when the rod 72 is shifted to the reverse position location, inputting a reverse detection signal to the controller 105.
