Abstract:

To provide an engine control device capable of suppressing delay of re-starting when an engine is re-started after it is temporarily stopped.

The engine control system is provided with a heat generation means GP as a firing source used for starting of the engine; control means S7, S14, S16 for controlling a temperature of the heat generation means GP; and a presumption means S4 for presuming re-starting in the near future after stopping of the engine. When the presumption means S4 presumes that the engine is re-started in the near future after stopping of the engine, the control means S7, S14, S16 retain the temperature of the heat generation means GP to a predetermined temperature (keeping temperature) during stopping of the engine and raises the temperature of the heat generation means GP to a temperature not less than the predetermined temperature and suitable for re-starting at re-starting of the engine.
