Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of a torque shock while maintaining a cylinder temperature in fuel cut control, in an engine control device that is configured to execute fuel cut control when a predetermined condition is satisfied.SOLUTION: An engine control device comprises an engine 1 having cylinders 18, an intake valve drive mechanism 71 configured to be capable of changing valve opening timing of intake valves 21, and a PCM 100 operating the engine 1 by controlling an injector 67. The PCM 100, when detecting that the opening of a throttle valve 36 is reduced to an idle opening S1 in deceleration operation of the engine 1, executes deceleration control of keeping the opening of the throttle valve 36 at the idle opening S1 and gradually reducing a valve open period of the intake valves 21 via the intake valve drive mechanism 71. The PCM 100 also executes fuel cut control of stopping a fuel injection performed by the injector 67, when a predetermined fuel cut condition is satisfied after start of the deceleration control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
