Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure output torque of an engine and also suppress increase of in-cylinder pressure.SOLUTION: A controller is applied to a premixed compression ignition type engine including: a fuel injection valve configured to inject fuel into a cylinder; and a water injection valve configured to inject water into the cylinder. The controller includes: a fuel injection control unit configured to inject fuel from the fuel injection valve into the cylinder at such timing that fuel self-ignites in a latter period of a compression stroke or an initial period of an expansion stroke; and a water injection control unit configured to execute, in one cycle, first water injection that is started at the almost same as timing of fuel self-ignition or before the timing, and terminated in the middle of combustion, and second water injection that is started after the completion of the first water injection and before the completion of combustion, and control the water injection valve so as to provide a non-injection period where water is not injected, between the first water injection and the second water injection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
