Abstract:
A control device (20) comprises a temporary stop control unit (21), a startup determination unit (32), and a prohibition unit (31). The temporary stop control unit provides a temporary stop function for automatically starting up an engine (2) after having automatically stopped the engine. The startup determination unit determines whether the control device has been started by generated power, or the control device has been started by battery power. The prohibition unit, in accordance with whether or not there is a battery (15), prohibits or permits the temporary stop control unit to stop the engine. The prohibition unit permits the temporary stop control unit to stop the engine when the control device has been started by battery power. An engine control device capable of determining whether or not there is a battery is provided.
