Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of unpleasant vibration on a vehicle body by making a motor act as a generator, at a point where vehicle body is about to vibrate, when fuel supply to an engine is stopped by a fuel cut means and engine speed falls short of the prescribed speed.
SOLUTION: In a hybrid vehicle, driving and regenerative operation of a motor M which is linked with an engine E are conducted by a power drive unit PD, in response to control command received from a motor ECU 3. When the engine E is stopped, an engine ECU 1 cuts off fuel supply to the engine E. While the fuel supply is cut off, when engine speed detected by an engine speed sensor S5 falls short of the prescribed speed at which a vehicle body is about to vibrate, the motor M is activated as a generator. Consequently, a load is applied to the engine E to quickly make engine speed zero, and thus generation of unpleasant vibration on the vehicle body is suppressed.
