PURPOSE: To expedite warming up of an exhaust turbo supercharger so as to try reduction of thermal load, etc., by stopping operation of an exhaust turbo supercharger on one side when an engine is in a preset running condition and also releasing the stop of operation in cold operation even in the range of stop.
CONSTITUTION: An engine is provided with plural exhaust turbo superchargers 32. Then, operation of an exhaust turbo supercharger 32 on one side is stopped by a stopping means 41. On the other hand, the running condition of the engine is detected by a detecting means 91. And when the engine is judged to be in the preset running condition, on the basis of the output from the detecting means 91, the stopping means 41 is controlled by a control means 92. Also, even if the engine is in the range of stop but in cold operation, stop command on one side exhaust turbo supercharger 32 can be released by a release means 93. Thus, warming up can be expedited for the exhaust turbo supercharger 32 in any cold operation.
