PURPOSE: To prevent the over-control of a torque down due to delay of fuel feed by making end timing of torque down control differ by a fuel supply limiting means and an ignition timing lagging means so that the end timing of fuel supply limitation is quickened relating to end timing of ignition timing lag.
CONSTITUTION: A torque down execution judging means P1 judges if a predetermined torque down execution condition is effected or not during the operation of an engine, and a fuel supply limiting means P2 and an ignition timing lagging means P3 are operated when judgement is YES so as to control a torque down. End timing of torque down control is made to differ in the fuel supply limiting means P2 and the ignition timing lagging means P3 by an end timing control means P4 during the torque down control period so that end timing of fuel supply limitation is quickened relating to end timing of ignition timing lag for the purpose of preventing any influence due to feed delay. Hereby, the over-control of the torque down (excessive reduction of engine torque) is prevented.
