Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease a coolant temperature even when a high boiling point coolant is used so as to keep lubrication of a piston system well by using a control valve which can be changed over in accordance with engine speed and circulating the coolant through a radiator when the engine works at low speed. CONSTITUTION:A cooling system 19 consists of radiator circulation routes 7, 11-16 connected to a radiator 2 and by-pass routes 9, 10 branched therefrom and by-passing the radiator 2. In this case, the first change-over valve 4 to make a coolant flow through the circulation routes 7, 11-13, 16 when the coolant temperature goes up higher than a preset upper limit value is provided in the cooling system 19. Additionally, the second change-over valve 5 to make the coolant flow through the by-pass route 9 when the coolant temperature goes down below a preset lower limit value is provided. Furthermore, a control valve 6 is provided to make the coolant flow through the circulation routes 7, 11-15 when the coolant temperature is between the preset upper limit value and the preset lower limit value and the engine 1 is driven at low speed and to make the coolant flow through the by-pass route 10 when the engine 1 is driven at high speed.
