To provide an engine fuel injector capable of suppressing the voltage drop of a battery, ensuring the consistent engine startability irrespective of freezing of water content, ingress of lubricating oil or the like, and reliably opening a cylinder injection valve by releasing the sticking thereof.
During the period after the ON-operation of an ignition switch 11 for operating a starter 20 before the operation of the starter 20, a control unit 10 operates a gaseous hydrogen injection valve I1 to a degree in which any gaseous hydrogen is not injected by the valve opening. Sticking of a movable part 5b caused by freezing of water content or ingress of lubricating oil is released in advance, and a direct injection type hydrogen injector I1 can be reliably opened at the cranking.
