To provide a fuel injection system for an engine capable of securing stable startability of the engine while preventing an influence of freezing on a cylinder hydrogen injection valve.
The fuel injection system for the engine having the cylinder hydrogen injection valve J1 directory injecting hydrogen into a combustion chamber and a fuel injection valve J2 (or J3) for an intake passage supplying fuel into the intake passage 2 is provided with a fuel injection valve control means 10 for selectively operating either of the cylinder hydrogen injection valve J1 and the fuel injection valve J2 (or J3) for the intake passage to inject the fuel, and a temperature detecting means 18 for detecting temperature related to the cylinder hydrogen injection valve J1. The fuel injection valve control means 10 is composed to supply the fuel from both the cylinder hydrogen injection valve J1 and the fuel injection valve J2 (or J3) for the intake passage at the time of start of the engine when the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means 18 is lower than a first prescribed value.
