To provide an engine gear transmission device that can enhance the lubricity of a receiving surface of a locking plate.
An engine gear transmission device is configured as follows. A pivot 2 is protruded from a cylinder block 1. A receiving seat 3 is provided on the base end side of the pivot 2. An idle gear 4 is fitted to the pivot 2. A locking plate 6 is mounted on a protruding end surface 5 of the pivot 2. The idle gear 4 is sandwiched between the receiving seat 3 and the outer peripheral edge 7 of the locking plate 6 so that the idle gear 4 is mounted on the pivot 2. The outer diameter of the outer peripheral edge 7 of the locking plate 6 is set larger than the outer diameter of a received surface 10 of the idle gear 4 that is received by a receiving surface 8 of the outer peripheral edge 7. A projected surface 8a, extending from the receiving surface 8 to the radial outside, of the outer peripheral edge 7 of the locking plate 6 is exposed in a gear case 4a.
