To provide an engine generator in which the exhaust gas discharged from the engine can be admitted from the engine into an exhaust emission control device while suppressing the temperature drop of the exhaust gas by decreasing the distance wherein the exhaust gas flows to the exhaust emission control device.
The engine generator 1 includes the engine 4 having an engine exhaust section 40 for discharging the exhaust gas on the upper part thereof; a generator 5 driven by the engine 4; and the exhaust emission control device 10 having an exhaust gas admission portion 12 at one end thereof and an exhaust gas discharge portion 13 at the other end thereof. The exhaust gas is guided from the exhaust gas admission portion 12 to the inside of the exhaust emission control device by connecting the exhaust gas admission portion 12 to the engine exhaust section 40, and the exhaust gas is cleaned therein, and the cleaned exhaust gas is discharged from the exhaust gas discharge portion 13. By vertically arranging the exhaust emission control device 10, the exhaust gas admission portion 12 is arranged at substantially the same height as the engine exhaust section 40 and above the exhaust gas discharge portion 13.
