To facilitate installation of an engine hood lock unlocking device for a construction machine and facilitate its control.

The engine hood lock unlocking device 22 for a construction machine locks the engine hood 9 of the construction machine closed or unlocks it by bringing a striker 26 provided on the open side end face of the engine hood 9 into engagement with a lock 27 provided on an engine cover 8, or by releasing the striker from engagement therewith. A release lever 29 for releasing the lock 27 from engagement is provided on the lock 27 side of the engine hood locking and unlocking device 22 and a link mechanism 31 for operating the release lever 29 is disposed on the same side. Also, a pull cable 24 for operating the link mechanism 31 is provided.
