Title:
ENGINE IGNITION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011122515
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an engine ignition device capable of stably supplying a mixture from an electrode pair with a short distance between the electrodes to an electrode pair with a long distance between the electrodes using the flow of the mixture flowing into an auxiliary chamber from a nozzle hole, produced by a compression process of an engine.

The ignition device 1 includes a plurality of electrode pairs (the first electrode pairs 51, 61 and the second electrode pairs 52, 62) different in the distances G1, G2 between the electrodes. The electrode pairs (the first electrode pairs 51, 61 and the second electrode pairs 52, 62) are inserted in a combustion chamber 100 of the engine, and ignition energy (electricity) is sequentially supplied from the electrode pairs (the first electrode pairs 51, 61) with the short distance between the electrodes to the electrode pairs (the second electrode pairs 52, 62) with the long distance between the electrodes. The ignition device 1 is formed with an auxiliary chamber 101 for storing the plurality of electrode pairs (the first electrode pairs 51, 61 and the second electrode pairs 52, 62), and includes an injection cover 7 formed with the nozzle hole 71 allowing communication between the combustion chamber 100 and the auxiliary chamber 101, on the extension of a line L1 connecting the plurality of electrodes.
