To provide an engine lubricating device with a valve element whose valve opening pressure is easily set and whose relief function is highly reliable.

The engine lubricating device supplies engine oil 4 from an oil pump 1 via an oil filter cartridge 2 to a sliding portion 3 of an engine. It comprises a relief valve chamber 6 provided in a mounting seat 5 for mounting the oil filter cartridge 2. The relief valve chamber 6 stores the valve element 7 and a valve spring 8. When an engine temperature is lower than a preset temperature, the valve opening pressure of the valve element 7 is lower than in the case of exceeding the set temperature. The relief valve chamber 6 stores a temperature sensitive expander 9 in series to the valve spring 8 so that the valve opening pressure of the valve element 7 is changed with the expansion of the valve spring 8 due to the expansion of the temperature sensitive expander 9. When the engine temperature is lower than the preset temperature, the valve element 7 is opened by the hydraulic pressure of engine oil 4 at starting the engine.
