Title:
ENGINE MIXER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6030462
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency and exhaust characteristic under wide operational range, by facing the ejection ports in the combustible gas flow path and the combustion air flow path while providing a swirler in the downstream at the facing section.

CONSTITUTION: Upon completion of exhaust process, in a gas engine, the piston 18 will lower to open the suction valve 16 thus to produce negative pressure in the combustion chamber 17. Consequently, the air is sucked through the air-flow path 11 while the gas is sucked through a gas burner 15 and gas flow path into the mixer 20 where they will collide then pass through a swirler 19 provided at the downstream to promote mixing of gas and air. Then the uniformly mixed gas is fed through the throttle valve 13 and suction valve 16 into the combustion chamber 17. Because of low resistance of the gas flow path, the engine efficiency will never drop considerably even when functioning the throttle valve resulting in widening of the lower limit of combustion range.
