Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine for a motorcycle capable of being effectively reduced in its size and weight while simplifying a constitution.SOLUTION: An engine for a motorcycle is provided with a crank shaft 17 with a crank web 18, a cylinder 12 having an axis 12A offset to one side with respect to a center 17A of the crank shaft 17, a balancer shaft 19 provided with a balancer weight 20 and disposed in parallel with the crank shaft, and a starter motor shaft 21. The balancer shaft 19 and the starter motor 21 are disposed at a side where a cylinder axis 12A is offset to the center 17A of the crank shaft, and the starter motor shaft 21 is disposed near a lower end of the cylinder 12 at the cylinder 12 side with respect to the balancer shaft 19.
