Title:
ENGINE MOUNT ARRANGEMENT WITH DAMPER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56160220
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an engine mount arrangement with a damper which can damp high frequency minute vibrations and low frequency vibrations by disposing an engine supporting metal spring in parallel relationship with a mount rubber between metal elements of the engine and the car body.

CONSTITUTION: As regards low frequency vibrations of a power unit P, the low frequency vibrations are damped by the rigidity of a coil spring 20 and also by an orifice effect of a hole 5a upon movement of operating fluid. Meanwhile, as regards high frequency minute vibrations, these vibrations are damped by elastic deformations of a mount rubber 3, resulting in changes of the capacity of chambers 4a, 4b. Movements of thin plates 18a, 18b, however, only correspond to such capacity changes and thus are small so that valves 21a, 21b are left open without bearing against their seats 17a, 17b. Accordingly, operating fluid moves back and forth between the chambers 4a, 4b through a passage 15. Thus, the rigidity of the chambers 4a, 4b can be low and high frequency minute vibrations can be damped by elastic deformations of the mount rubber. Thus, low frequency vibrations and high frequency minute vibrations can be damped effectively.
