Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an erroneous detection of preignition, and restrain quickly the preignition when the preignition is generated. SOLUTION: A smoking detecting timing is set in an early period during the outputting of an ignition command signal (during primary current flowing in an ignition coil 21), and a preignition detecting timing is set in a latter period during the outputting of the ignition command signal. Existence of generation of smoking is determined in the smoking detecting timing based on an output voltage of an ionic current detecting circuit 35, and, when smoking is generated the detection of preignition is prohibited to elude an erroneous detection of preignition for conducting a preignition restraining control (for example, retard correction of ignition timing). When smoking is not generated, the existence of the generation of preignition is determined in the preignition detecting timing based on the output voltage of the ionic current detecting circuit 35, and the preignition is restrained by correcting art airfuel ratio to an icreasing side in the case of preignition generation.
