To provide a hydraulic construction machinery engine-pump control method for matching an engine output torque with a pump input torque even when working environment is changed.
This engine-pump control method which is applied to a hydraulic shovel equipped with an engine 1, a variable displacement hydraulic pump 2, a regulator 2a, and a controller 4 outputting control signals to the regulator 2a so as to make an input torque of the hydraulic pump 2 match with an actual output torque of the engine 1 in accordance with the number of rotations detected by a rotation sensor 11, and enables the output torque of the engine 1 to match with the input torque of the hydraulic pump 2. A control signal corresponding to at least one of values detected by an atmospheric pressure sensor 6, an exhaust temperature sensor 5 of the engine 1, and an atmospheric temperature sensor 13 is output from the controller 4 to the regulator 2a to control the tilting angle of the pump.
