To facilitate escape from a slip state in the mud so as to improve the operability of a vehicle by providing a control means for changing engine rotational speed to the low speed side upon detecting the actuation of a differential locking device.
The rotating power of an engine is transmitted through a differential gear 3F, and left and right front wheels 1, 1 are differentially rotated. When a differential locking pedal 26 is depressed, the left and right front wheels 1, 1 lose differential action and are forcibly rotated synchronously. The rotating base part of the differential locking pedal 26 is provided with a differential locking operation detecting switch 5, and when the differential lock detecting switch 5 is on, a controller reduces engine rotational speed to reduce the rotating speed of wheels slipping in the mud or the like. At the same time, a timer is actuated, and a differential lock state is released after a fixed time. Escape from the mud is therefore facilitated by a low speed travel state. After the escape from the mud, speed is automatically reset to improve operability.
