Abstract:
Vibration generated by a primary inertia couple caused by a lateral pressure from the piston in an offset engine is reduced. The engine (14) includes a motion conversion mechanism (32) and a balancer mechanism (34). In the engine (14), a primary inertia force generated as the motion conversion mechanism (32) operates and an inertia force generated as the balancer mechanism (34) operates are used, or an inertia force generated as the balancer mechanism (60) operates is used, to reduce vibration generated by the primary inertia couple caused by the lateral pressure from the piston.
