To provide an engine start control device for a vehicle capable of improving reliability of control action at a time of engine start by preventing malfunction of an engine start device.

This device is provided with a vehicle control part 8 managing an operation condition of a vehicle whole body, an engine control part 12 controlling operation of an engine 1 based on a communication command from the vehicle control part 8, and an engine start device 20 starting the engine 1. When the vehicle control part 8 determines that engine start conditions are established, the vehicle control part 8 issues a communication command for start to the engine control part 12. When start starting command is issued to the engine start device 20 and a communication command for start is issued to the engine control part 12, start starting command is issued to the engine start device 20. The engine start device 20 starts the engine 1 when both of the start starting command from the vehicle control part 8 and start starting command from the engine control part 12 are issued.
