Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both speedy start-up and emission performance improvement of an engine.SOLUTION: An ECU 50 has: an automatic stop control section 51 which automatically stops an engine when a predetermined automatic stop condition is met; and a restart control section 52 which restarts the engine by performing fuel injection through an injector 15 while rotating a crankshaft 7 with a starter motor 34 when a predetermined restart condition is met after an automatic stop of the engine. When restarting the engine by allowing a cylinder which is first to perform a compression stroke among a plurality of cylinders 2A to 2D to start combustion, the automatic stop control section 51 and the restart control section 52 perform equivalent ratio control so that an equivalent ratio φ of the cylinder which is first to perform the compression stroke becomes smaller than the equivalent ratio φ of the cylinder which is second to perform the compression stroke.
