An engine starting support device is a device for supporting a start of an engine 1 in an automobile 100 in which the engine 1 to be started by cranking force, and conversion mechanisms 2 to 5 for converting velocity of the automobile 100 to cranking force are included. The engine starting support device includes a velocity sensor 11 for detecting velocity of the automobile 100, calculation means 16 for calculating cranking force to be increased for starting the engine 1, required velocity estimation means 16 for estimating velocity of the automobile 100 necessary for obtaining cranking force with the conversion mechanisms 2 to 5, and notification means 14 and 15 for notifying a person of a status of the automobile 100 based on velocity detected by the velocity sensor 11 and necessary velocity estimated by the required velocity estimation means 16.
