Abstract:

To provide an engine starting system to permit starting of an engine in case the driver wears a helmet which meets the requirements for operating a vehicle.

The engine starting system 30 using helmet H is equipped with an engine start controlling means 32 installed on a vehicle such as motorcycle 10 for controlling the start of the engine 18, an information storing tag 31 attached to the helmet and having a memory part 31a storing the first permission information, a reader 33 attached to the vehicle for reading the first permission information stored in the memory part, a second information storing means 34 attached to the vehicle for storing the second permission information, and a judging means 35 which is attached to the vehicle to perform comparison of the first permission information read by the reader with the second permission information stored by the second information storing means, and according to the result from comparison, judges whether the engine is allowed to start or not. In case the judging means permits starting of the engine, the starting is performed by the engine start controlling means.
