PURPOSE: To provide an engine stopping device of a diesel engine capable of making the engine compact, reducing cost and speedily stopping the engine.

CONSTITUTION: A fuel cut valve 7 is interposed on either of a fuel inlet part 2 of a fuel injection pump 1 and a fuel feeding passage 5, and a check valve 8 is interposed on either of an overflow outflow part 3 of the fuel injection pump 1 and a fuel returning passage 6. Consequently, by stopping fuel feeding from the fuel feeding passage 5 to the fuel injection pump 1 by the fuel cut valve 7, blocking reversed flow of fuel from the fuel returning passage 6 to the fuel injection pump 1 by the check valve 8 and speedily stopping fuel feeding from the fuel injection pump 1 to an injection nozzle 11, stopping of an engine is speedily carried out.
