Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of easily attaching a cam chain.SOLUTION: A crankcase 84 includes: a supporting shaft 240 swingably supporting a tensioning member 158; and a temporary supporting shaft 252 positioned on a side opposite from a second sprocket 146 with respect to a straight line L1 connecting a center of the supporting shaft 240 and a center of a first sprocket 108 when viewed from an axial direction of a crankshaft 56, and supporting the tensioning member 158. A chain chamber 210 includes a temporary supporting surface 213 brought into contact with a part of the tensioning member 158 in the state that the tensioning member 158 is supported by the temporary supporting shaft 252 so as to slidably support a part thereof. When viewed from the axial direction of the crankshaft 56, the temporary supporting shaft 252 is positioned on the temporary supporting surface 213 side compared to a part wound around the first sprocket 108 of a chain 154.
