PURPOSE: To prevent the counterflow of the recirculating air to the atmosphere, by providing a timing valve opening synchronously with the suction process in the downstream of a control valve in a suction return path, and temporarily storing the suction air to be returned from a cylinder in the compression process while returning to the suction system in the following suction process.
CONSTITUTION: Under low load operation, an open/close valve 15 is opened as the stepping of an accelerator pedal is released. A cam 6 will open/close a suction recirculation valve 9 while lagging by predetermined phase from a suction valve 7. Since said valve 9 is open for predetermined time in the compression process of an engine E, the suction air is temporarily stored in front of a timing valve 16 and returned to a suction path 10 when the timing valve 16 opened in the following suction process.
