Abstract:
To suppress the knocking of an engine.SOLUTION: An engine system 1 comprises a piston 22 accommodated in a cylinder 30, and a cylinder head 24 arranged on the cylinder 30. When the piston 22 is located at a top dead point, a small-diameter combustion chamber 52 being a combustion chamber whose radius is smaller than an inside radius of the cylinder 30 is formed between a center area of a crown face 40 of the piston 22 and a center area in which an ignition plug 44 is arranged out of an inner face 38 of the cylinder head 24, a squish 60 being an interval between a peripheral area around the center area out of the crown face 40 of the piston 22 and a peripheral area around the center arranged out of the inner face 38 of the cylinder head 24 becomes shorter than a fire distinction distance when the piston 22 is located at the top dead point, and a radius of the small-diameter combustion chamber 52 is equal to or smaller than a value which is obtained by multiplying a flame propagation speed by the ignition of the ignition plug 44 to a time at which the squish 60 which varies according to a reciprocation motion of the piston 22 is equal to or shorter than the flame distinction distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
