To provide an efficient engine unit for a vehicle having a high degree of freedom in arrangement inside an engine room and reduced in mechanical loss.
A turbine generator 1 to be driven for power generation by exhaust gas is arranged on the way of an exhaust passage 3, in which exhaust gas discharged from an engine E flows, and electricity generated by the turbine generator 1 is charged in a battery B, and motors M1, M2, etc. are connected to a rotary shaft of auxiliary machines H1, H2, etc. to be driven by rotary drive, and these motors are driven by electricity stored in the battery B. With this structure, a belt driving mechanism of an existing auxiliary machine, in which mechanical loss is large, is fallen into disuse. In this engine unit for a vehicle, the number of auxiliary machines to be arranged in a front end of the engine is reduced, degree of freedom in arrangement inside the engine room is improved, and mechanical loss is reduced. Efficiency over the whole of the engine can be thereby improved.
