To facilitate the spread of flames from an auxiliary chamber across an entire main combustion chamber to cause combustion uniformly in the whole area of the main combustion chamber, and thereby improve combustion efficiency.
A recess 6 opened at an explosion surface (cylinder head surface 3c) side of a cylinder head 3 is formed at a position biased from a center (central axis A) of a cylinder. A hot plug 30 closes the explosion surface (cylinder head surface 3c) side of the recess 6 and forms an auxiliary chamber S in the recess 6 while being ground to be flush with the cylinder head 3. The hot plug 30 has a nozzle hole 35 penetrating from a central part of the auxiliary chamber S toward a center side of the cylinder. At an explosion surface side of the hot plug 30, a step 36 is formed where the center side of the cylinder including a part of the nozzle hole 35 is recessed toward an auxiliary chamber S side than the cylinder head surface 3c.
