Abstract:

To provide an engine that can increase the durability of an oil seal.

An engine comprises: a timing transmission case 2 attached to a crank case 1; a crankshaft through-hole 4 provided to an end wall 3 of the timing transmission case 2; a crankshaft 5 passed through the crankshaft through-hole 4; an oil seal 6 provided between the inner peripheral surface of the crankshaft through-hole 4 and the outer peripheral surface of the crankshaft 5; and a crank angle detection rotor 7 attached to the crankshaft 5. The outer diameter of the crank angle detection rotor 7 is larger than the outer diameter of the oil seal 6, and the crank angle detection rotor 7 is opposed to the oil seal 6 on an internal space 2a side of the timing transmission case 2.
