Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a mechanical loss by suppressing lowering of roundness of a cylinder bore.SOLUTION: In an engine, a cylinder liner 5 in which a fitting part 5b formed of a groove or a protrusion is formed at an outer peripheral face 5a is accommodated in an accommodation space of a cylinder block, and the cylinder liner is held at the cylinder block by solidification of molten metal which is poured into a clearance between the outer peripheral face of the cylinder liner and the cylinder block. The fitting part is arranged within an area in the outer peripheral face of the cylinder liner, where a deformation amount to the outside in a radial direction produced by one or both of external force and thermal stress acting on the cylinder liner is relatively small.
