Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine having a boss for installing a fuel injection valve on a cylinder head in which an EGR passage can be disposed close to the fuel injection valve while restricting bad effects of heat on the fuel injection valve to the minimum. SOLUTION: The EGR passage 101 to introduce EGR gas is extended in parallel to an axial line of a cam shaft 34 close to the fuel injection valve 102, and a part of the boss 103 is protruded into the cylinder head 22.
