To obtain an enriched food product that can enhance calcium in food products with improved taste without coagulation and precipitation of the product as milk beverage by converting specific metal compounds to a complex.
A soluble calcium salt, preferably calcium lactate and a citrate salt, preferably potassium citrate, are used to form their semi-stable complex by their mutual action and the complex is added to food in an food-enhancing amount. In this case, the food products are preferably products mainly comprising milk, sugar confection, ice cream and the like and the amount of the complex is 0.05-5 wt.% based on the food product. In a preferred embodiment, the weight ratio of the soluble calcium salt to the alkali metal citrate is 1/4-4/1.
