Title:
ENRICHING DIHALOGENASE-CONTAINING BACTERIUM, METHOD FOR SEPARATING AND CULTURING THE BACTERIUM AND PAPER PRODUCT CONTAINING RESIDUE OF BACTERIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3752141
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enriching a bacterium containing a dehalogenating enzyme so as to increase individual group of a bacterium to a level effective for dehalogenating a nitrogen-free organohalogen compound present in a polymerization reacrion product, separating the bacterium and successively culturing the separated bacterium, and to obtain a paper product composed of a nitrogen-containing cationic polymer and the residue of bacterium.
SOLUTION: This method comprises (A) adding an environmental sample containing plural solid groups of bacteria to a nitrogen-containing polymer and a nitrogen-free organohalogen compound, (B) incubating the mixed solid groups of bacteria, (C) separating a dihalogenase-containing bacterium from the incubated bacterium solid groups and (D) culturing the dihalogenase-containing bacterium solid group until reaching at least 5×107 cells per milliliter. The paper product comprises (A) a nitrogen- containing cationic polymer and (B) the residue of bacterium present on the maximum of about 100 g based on 1 ton of dried paper product in which the bacterium contains an enzyme capable of dehalogenating the nitrogen free orgenohalogen compound without substantially changing the polymer.
