PURPOSE: To simplify control by installing, at the card reader portion of a system for opening and closing the door by means of personal cards, a function setting switch for selecting between a registration mode and a deleting mode and a data input device, and enabling new registrations and deletion on the spot.

CONSTITUTION: A card reader portion 2 is provided with a function setting switch 10 for selecting between a new registration mode 6 and a registration deleting mode 8, so that a system is capable of registering cards and deleting registrations, in addition to opening and closing the door by means of personal cards; i.e., when a personal card is read by the reader 2 being switched to the registration mode 6, a new registrant is recorded, whereas when the card is read by the reader being switched to the deleting mode 8, that registration is deleted. Personal data is additionally registered by means of an input device 14 in the registration mode 6. Control can thus be simplified.
